What’s a Session Like?

In each session, students can explore:

  • DJ Skills: How to select tracks, mix them seamlessly, and perform live. This empowers students to create smooth transitions and curate sets, building confidence in their music taste as well as their ability to shape the atmosphere in real-time.

  • Song Creation: Explore how to produce original music and arrange their ideas into full songs. This includes rhythm, playing and recording instruments, conceptualizing songs, and writing lyrics.

  • Creative Sound Design and Free Expression: Explore sound manipulation and experiment with audio effects, crafting unique soundscapes in the process. This includes designing atmospheric sounds for film, games, and other creative projects.

  • Collaboration with a friend or Group Sessions

Sessions are hands-on, relaxed, and tailored to each student's interests — whether they want to DJ, make a song, design sounds, or just play and explore.

Meet the Instructor
Hi, I'm Christopher Hurst. I’ve been DJing and producing music for over 15 years, and for the past 5 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching and mentoring youth in this space.
I created 432Ready to help young learners discover creativity, confidence, and connection through music.I'm passionate about facilitating opportunities for students to express their unique ideas, and in the process, opening a channel for them to communicate thoughts and feelings outside of their usual methods.I believe that through these moments, students can gain purpose and independence, all while leaving each class with something they brought to life from their own creative efforts.
